Available time

  • The construction of Health Units, within a radius of 5 km from the communities, allowed them the access to medical services, and also allowed the mothers to do several tasks in the same day: they are able to take their children to the next health unit to weight the children, and also to perform all the other daily tasks essential as water collection, cooking and working in their gardens.
  • The access to water wells, which are closer to family dwellings, allows people (mostly women and children) to spend less time collecting water, in order to so concentrate their energies on other activities. Thus, women have more time for productive activities and children have a time to go to school.
